The Precautions You Need to Take before and after Your Laser or Light Treatment

If you’re considering a laser or light treatment, what are the precautions you need to take before and after your treatment?

For both BBL (broadband light) and Moxi laser we recommend no hot sun exposure like a trip to the Canaries, for two weeks before or after your treatment.

You can have these treatments during the summer months with our Irish sun, as long as you’re wearing SPF daily, and avoiding sunburn.

As always avoid any sunbed use year-round!

It’s important not to have any fake tan products on the skin for at least 10 days beforehand as the fake tan can absorb more light energy and risk side-effects.

We want your skin to be nice and calm with no active cold sores or inflamed eczema.

We recommend you avoid your active ingredients like vitamin A retinol products and vitamin C products or exfoliants for at least five days before and after your treatment.

Aftercare includes daily SPF use, reapplying as necessary.

We recommend gentle skincare for a week after treatment and no strenuous exercise for a few days after treatment.

BBL (broadband light) is an excellent way to target facial blood vessels, redness, acne and rosacea, as well as improving pigmentation, age spots, fine lines, wrinkles and texture and tone of the skin.

Moxi is a specialised laser that helps to rejuvenate the skin, stimulate collagen and improve pigmentation and reduce signs of aging and sun damage.
