We are focused on protecting your privacy.  We understand the sensitivity of the nature of some of the treatments that we perform.  We respect your trust in us and we want to outline in this privacy statement how we use, store and share your information.

This privacy policy sets out how Dr Eithne Brenner Medical Aesthetics Clinic uses and protects any information that you give us, how we use it and how you can communicate with us regarding the use of your data.  All personal information we collect about you will be processed in accordance with The EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation EU 2016/79), which came into effect on 25th May 2018.  This legislation will replace the 1988 Data Protection Act.

Who we are

Dr Eithne Brenner and her team specialise in treatments that can combat the signs of aging, and improve your skin, your appearance, and your overall confidence. Our treatments are relatively non-invasive, with little to no recovery time. Our staff constantly train and update their skills to ensure that you are always offered the best available treatments.

In accordance with The EU General Data Protection Regulation, Dr Brenner is identified as a Data Controller regarding how we collect and further process your personal information.

How we collect information about you

To use your personal information lawfully we must rely on one or more of the following legal bases: Consent, Explicit Consent, Contractual Necessity, Legal Obligation, Vital Interest, Public Interest or Legitimate Interests.

Website Users

When you search or browse or website, we may ask for personal information such as your name and email address.  We may collect information about you when you use the internet (such as the website you came from, domain types, your IP address, your browser type, the country where your Internet service provider is located.

Our website www.dreithnebrenner.ie uses “cookies”. This technology is a piece of text that the server places on your device when you visit our website.  They help us make the site work better for you.  We also use Google Analytics.

How we use your personal information

We use your personal data to provide you with information on our services when we receive an enquiry from you.  Your enquiry can be completed via our website, face to face in clinic, by email or by phone call.  When you consent to receiving our newsletter and marketing material we will process your personal information to keep you informed of events, products and services which we consider may be of interest to you.

Dr Brenner collects and uses your personal information, medical details (where relevant) and other information pertaining to your consultation to perform services and treatments you have requested. Personal data collected will include your name, contact details and any other information related to your consultation. We will confirm your consent for us to hold your information before it is stored and processed. Your personal data will only be used when the law allows us to. We will use your personal data most often in the following circumstances:

  • To assess suitability of treatments and services
  • To conduct treatments and services under the highest levels of safety and efficiency
  • To maintain a high level of customer service
  • When we provide you with information, products and services which you have requested from us.
  • When we provide you with information about similar goods or services which we feel may be of interest to you or in line with a previous purchase of yours. We will only contact you via SMS or email with information about said goods or services.
  • To ensure adequate resolutions and continuity for clients or any issues that may arise.
  • To conduct essential correspondence.

When we enter into a contract with a third party in relation to your procedure it will be necessary to process your personal information.  Your personal information will also be used for invoicing purposes.

We collect personal data that we receive directly from you when you visit our clinic, visit our website, submit an online enquiry, book a consultation, subscribe to our newsletter, email us, and when you telephone us.  We also collect personal data when you complete our enquiry forms or our registration forms via email or via our computers/iPads.  We also collect information through our social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter etc.  We also have CCTV installed in the public areas in our clinic.

We collect and uses your personal information, medical details (where relevant) and other information pertaining to your consultation to perform services and treatments you have requested. Personal data collected will include your name, contact details, date of birth, gender, photographs, details relating to physical and mental health, PPS numbers when making a medical insurance claim, and any other information related to your consultation. We will confirm your consent for us to hold your information before it is stored and processed. Your personal data will only be used when the law allows us to.

How long do we keep your information for?

We keep your personal information on file for as long as it is needed.  We also must retain your personal information to meet our legal and regulatory requirements for both accountancy and medical needs.

We are committed to the protection and security of your personal information.  We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to protect your personal information from unauthorised use and access such as encryption.  We have put in place strict internal guidelines to ensure that your privacy is guaranteed.  We will also continue to review and update our polices and procedures and we will implement additional security features as they become available.  When you do contact us to ask about your personal information, we will ask you some questions to identify yourself.

Your rights relating to personal data

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information, and have it corrected or deleted.

  • Request access to your personal data via a “Data Subject Access Request”. This allows you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to ensure we are processing it lawfully.
  • Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you. This allows you to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data we hold on you. However, we may need verification of the new data provided to us.
  • Have the right to be forgotten. This allows you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us to continue to process it.
  • Object to processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interest and there is something about your situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground as you feel it impacts your fundamental rights and freedoms.
