Polynucleotides

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotide treatments are great for people concerned with fine lines, wrinkles and loss of elasticity on the face or neck. It treats various concerns and is an excellent option for under-eye crepiness, puffiness, wrinkles, and hollows.

Polynucleotides are being called the ‘gold standard’ in true skin regeneration. They are filtered and ultra-purified natural DNA fractions that initiate your body’s natural fibroblast production, resulting in increased collagen, and a thicker, healthier epidermis.

How long do polynucleotides treatment results last?

Results last around six to nine months on average, depending on the patient’s lifestyle and rate of ageing.

How many polynucleotide treatments do you need?

Polynucleotides treatment typically involves two to three sessions, spaced approximately two weeks apart, depending on the patient’s needs. Before administering the injections, the doctor will apply local anaesthetic cream to numb the area, and then inject the product into the targeted area of the face or neck.

What are the side effects of polynucleotides?

It’s important to be aware of these to make an informed decision about whether polynucleotide injections are suitable for you. 1-2 days of downtime is common due to the common side effects of redness, swelling and mild bruising. Other side effects may include: tenderness, itching, allergic reactions and infection.  Make sure to consult with a trained and qualified physician.

Can Polynucleotides be combined with other treatments?

Yes, they can be safely used alongside other treatments like laser resurfacing, radiofrequency, dermal fillers, HarmonyCA, Profhilo and Botox injections. This combination can often lead to enhanced results and it is referred to as skin priming.

Are polynucleotides fillers?

Polynucleotides work at a cellular level, enhancing fibroblast activity and collagen production. This essentially means that unlike dermal fillers, they provide a long-term benefit by improving skin quality, reducing roughness, and increasing hydration levels.

How long does it take to see results from polynucleotides?

Typically, you will not notice any benefits for a few weeks. This is because the action of polynucleotides is at the cellular level, and this takes time. Although you may notice some improvement after 2-3 weeks, the full effect is only visible at 3 months.
