What is it?

Profhilo® has been specially formulated to contain a unique level of Hyaluronic Acid (a naturally occurring substance found in our bodies that is responsible for maintaining moisture within our skin), which helps to encourage the production of collagen and elastin across the skin. Due to the way Profhilo® has been made, it acts as a hydrator rather than a filler, and is therefore fantastic for those with tired, dull and ageing skin as it provides overall more plump and luminous skin.

The substance is injected just below the skin’s surface in just 2 sessions over a period of 4 weeks and disperses quickly across the skin to instantly boost hydration and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in improved skin texture. The ageing process starts at just 23 years old, we gradually start losing collagen, elastin and Hyaluronic Acid, which means we start to see the signs of ageing in the form of fine lines, wrinkles and slightly lack-lustre skin. At this age, we should start to consider preserving ourselves, therefore Profhilo® is advised for individuals from around the age of 30 upwards, who wish to target ageing skin. Profhilo® is also an excellent choice for you if you don’t want to add volume to specific areas as it instead provides volume and hydration across the skin, giving an overall rejuvenated appearance. There is no age upper limit either for Profhilo®.

Some older patients have had great results. However, if you are over 60, your treatment does need to be managed carefully – for example, if there are deep folds present or the skin has lost elasticity, then Dermal Fillers may be more suitable. Profhilo is suitable for your face, neck, hands, upper arms, décolletage, knees and thighs. If you are looking for very subtle results, this treatment delivers. However, if you are looking for a lifting of the face, neck or any other area, then a combination approach with Dermal Fillers might be a better option for you.

What Is Involved In the Treatment?

How Long Will Results Last?

To achieve the best long-lasting results, 2 treatments are recommended with a 4-week interval. Some people may see the results within the first week, but the best outcomes of the treatment will be visible 4 weeks after the second treatment. The results from Profhilo® treatments will most often last for up to six months, but results can differ from person to person.
